'The Happiest Place on earth'

'Disneyland California Parks'

Anyone who knows me well will know I am the biggest Disney fan you'll meet. I've traveled to Disneyworld 5 times and last year I was lucky enough to visit Disneyland Paris for the second time and Disneyland California for the first time. I felt it would be fun to tell you my Top 5 favourite rides from Disneyland California. Even though they’re all Disney Parks, my favourite rides differ so much, because each park is so individual and have their own rides that make them a must to visit all of them. To be clear my top 5 rides will come from the Disneyland Park and California Adventure. Let’s get started!

This ride was always going to make my top 5 as I love thrill rides and this one didn’t disappoint. It’s got to be California Screaming! This ride looked amazing and it was the first ride we headed straight for (after getting Fastpasses for the cars ride of course) in California Adventure Park. The queue was super short for such a massive ride, on a Saturday in the middle of June. Brownie points here.

We were however slightly worried when we approached the docking area that there was nowhere to put your bags. We both had small backpacks and there were no signs of lockers or compartments on the back of seats to store bags. We knew this ride went upside down so felt a little worried. However we had nothing to worry about, we put our legs through the backpack straps and our bags were completely safe throughout the duration. Quick Tip: only take small bags as I don’t know how we would have fit bigger bags. The ride was amazing though, with a quick blast off at the beginning and a long smooth ride with plenty of turns, we loved it! Definitely a must!

'Radiator Springs Racers'

' Joe's Top Favourite'

My next attraction in my Top 5 is going to be a ride situated in California Adventure Park and is exclusive to Disneyland California and that ride is, ‘Radiator Springs Racers’. Joe has been looking forward to going on this ride since it opened, so our first priority when we entered California Adventure was to head straight to the Fastpass machines. I’m glad we did too, as we got Fastpasses for 7.45-8.45pm! If we left it any later they would have run out and we would have had to wait in the two hour queue line with this ride still being such a popular attraction despite opening 5 years before.

The ride was so creative, starting with an inside journey we ventured through the set of the Cars film, with different characters interacting with us. Very imaginative and fun. It was similar to 'Test Track' in Epcot. The best part of the ride was racing through Radiator Springs and trying to beat our competitor.

We were super lucky as we got a red car (that’s what Joe wanted) and we sat front row and Joe was centre seat so he was right at the heart of this attraction. Such an amazing memory and I hope to go back soon to ride this fantastic attraction again.

I have to say this was by far my favourite ride from Disneyland California and it's got to be ‘Space Mountain’. Honestly, I thought the one in Disneyworld was good but after riding California’s, it isn’t a patch on the Cali version. I was a bit skeptical as I love the Disneyworld version and how you sit one behind the other and that would be my only negative. However, the Cali one was so much faster and longer and felt more like a thrill ride than a family ride.

Even though our team didn't win the game, we wouldn't take back our weekend to Liverpool, it was the best weekend we'd shared in a long time, full of love and laughter. Spending quality time with my best friend is how I want every day to be, and hopefully soon it will be. Work hard, play hard.

It was a lot darker which we felt worked so much better. In Florida it’s easy to make out the track so you have some sense that you know where you are going. In Disneyland we couldn’t see a thing which heightened the fear for us and made it even better. It also helped that me and Joe got front row so we had no one in front of us and felt it was just him, me and the mountain. One of our favourite rides of all the Disney Parks and I will never forget that moment.

The fourth attraction on my list is one of my most favourite rides in Disneyland California and Disneyworld and that is ‘Toy Story, Midway Mania’. I simply adore this ride. It is so clever and fun and I love a game that involves a bit of competition between me and Joe. In this 4D interactive ride, you have to take aim at the moving objects and whoever hits the most and gets the most points, wins!  And what’s even better, when we played this ride in California two lovely passersby gave us their fast passes as they were leaving and we were so thankful as the queue was super long, so thank you to those lovely people. Another reason why I loved this ride in Disneyland was because, normally in competitive rides like this, Joe beats me, every time, without fail. But this time, I won! I was so happy and think I found my calling!

My last but certainly not least favourite attraction in Disneyland California has to go to ‘Soarin around the World’ found in California Adventure Park. Wow. Just wow. Now I know this ride now lives in Epcot at Disneyworld, however we have yet to ride it as the last time we were in Disneyworld it hadn't been changed from 'Soarin' so this was our first time riding it in California. Incredible, just incredible.

The idea behind the ride is you are hang gliding over international landmarks and beloved landscapes. You can feel the air on your face and the smells of the locations you are in. This ride is truly magical and you feel as if you are truly there. Unforgettable and a favourite for a lot of people.

So that concludes my Top 5 Rides at Disneyland California Parks. I was surprised how hard I found this to choose my top 5 as there were so many that nearly made it. Disneyland California is incredible and I feel honoured to walk where Walt Disney once walked and be part of his vision from the beginning. He is a true inspiration and I see it in this park. I hope you enjoyed reading this blog and thanks for stopping by.
